7 weeks old!

Time has flown by and Naomi is 7 weeks (almost 8 weeks!) old.  She's just over 11 pounds and gaining quickly, making up for lost time during her bout of pneumonia 2 weeks ago.  Naomi is super smiley and pretty relaxed.  She loves to be held and snuggled.  Best of all, she's very close to sleeping through the night. She sleeps from 10:45pm to anywhere between 5 and 6am.  If she can make it to 6:30am I'll be thrilled!

Naomi Charlotte

This post is 7 weeks late, but I wanted to officially announce the arrival of our daughter, Naomi Charlotte.  She was born on January 2, 7lbs 12oz.  4 days late!

I was blessed with a relatively short labor.  Around 2pm I told John that I thought maybe we should go to the hospital.  Naomi was born at 5:30pm.  Our doula, nurse and doctor were all wonderful.

For Lydia, it was love at first sight when Naomi came home.  She loves to kiss and hug her sister.  Lydia insists that Naomi's name is "Sister Baby," not Naomi.

We are slowly adjusting to life as a family of four.  There have been a few bumps along the way- temper tantrums, a nasty virus and double ear infections for Lydia, and bout of pneumonia for Naomi that landed us in the hospital for 5 days.  Through it all the Lord has poured out blessing upon blessing- a new job for John (!), good medical care for Naomi not a moment too late, and support and help from our parents during this busy season of adjustment.
