Peanut Butter Cracker Craziness

Yesterday I gave Lydia a new snack: peanut butter on Ritz crackers.  She loved it!
First, she systematically licked all the peanut butter off the crackers.

During the peanut butter extraction process, most of the peanut butter ended up on her upper lip.

More please!

Yum!

Poor baby- just 12 hours after her peanut butter cracker snack, Lydia was battling the stomach flu.  She's still not feeling well and has barely eaten anything today.  Maybe I'll see if she's interested in some peanut butter crackers when she wakes up from her nap.

Big Woof

Aunt Christy came over on Sunday and brought Lydia a very special gift...

A giant, fluffy stuffed dog!  Lydia loves him.  As soon as she saw the dog, she took off running!

Lydia smothered the dog (which we're now calling "Big Woof") with snuggles and kisses.

The face of pure delight!

Ever since Sunday, Lydia and Big Woof have been inseparable.

Every morning when I get her out of her crib, she barks ("arf arf") to indicate that she wants Big Woof to come out of the crib with her.

A Big Slide for a Big Baby

On Sunday we took Lydia to Tear Drop Park to try out the big slide.

I've never seen a baby so happy before!

This is the kind of thrill that Lydia lives for.

She went down twice with John and once with me.  I think she would have been happy to go down the slide all day long.  The video below gives a better perspective as to how big the slide actually is.

Lydia rounded out her afternoon exercise with a stair climbing session.

And then she screamed when we put her back in her stroller.

A Sick Baby

Lydia and I have both been battling colds for over a week. Lydia's cold, unfortunately, turned into double ear infections.  Thankfully, we were able to get into the doctor quickly and the antibiotics have started working.  Poor little thing still doesn't feel great, though.  On Saturday when John was at class, Lydia and I spent some quality time lounging, having picnics, and dealing with baby crankiness.

Lydia loves to be on the move, and I can tell something is really wrong when I find her like this multiple times a day!

Please ignore our messy floors.  I didn't have the heart to strap her in her high chair, so we had snack time on the kitchen floor.

Lydia enjoyed her snacks out of her dish, and off the floor!

Post-nap hair do.

Squatting is the preferred eating position.

Post-snack lounge time.

After dinner Lydia perked up a bit, and was ready for her post-meal run around.

7 months!?!

I can't believe it has been 7 months since I last posted.  Lydia is now a very busy 14 month old.  She is incredibly active and only slows to give her stuffed animals a quick snuggle.  Then, she's on the move again!

She spends her days playing her pillow filled fort...

Wrapping any and all items of clothing around herself...

Helping Mama in the kitchen...

Helping Dada do sit-ups...

And occasionally taking mornings naps with Kitty and Lamby.
